Dr. Thatcher was raised in Northern California where he developed his love for animals and interest in science. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California-Davis in Animal Science. He did additional graduate work at Oregon State University in Physiology. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine-University of California-Davis. He has been working at VCA Marina Animal Hospital since 1983 where he has developed a close relationship with many clients that he now considers friends. Dr. Thatcher's medical interests include dentistry and soft tissue surgery. He has lived in Southern California since 1983 and thoroughly enjoys the outdoor activities that the area provides. He also enjoys travel and cooking.
Education:
Dr. Eliot received his B.S. in Animal Science at Cal Poly Pomona. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine at University of California- Davis. He joined the VCA family in 1993 and moved to VCA Marina Animal Hospital in 1999 where he enjoys caring for their numerous hospital pets as well as his many clients and their pets. He has a special interest in small animal ophthalmology. Dr Eliot is a Southern California native. When he is not at work, he can be found at the beach or local areas biking, hiking, walking or reading a new book under a tree.
Dr. Martinez grew up in New Mexico, and received her bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of New Mexico. She attended Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2000. Dr. Martinez then practiced for a year in North Carolina, before settling in Devner, Colorado where she practiced for nine years.
